Berks Salsa Fest's mission is to unite our culturally diverse community by providing a positive venue where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can come together to learn the invigorating form of dance known as “Salsa” while promoting self-confidence and inspiring personal growth. Our professional Latin dance instructors will work diligently to unlock the individual’s potential preparing them for dance performances, competitions or to simply utilize dance as a form of fitness.
Latin Flair Inc., a non-profit children's Latin dance troupe, is the birth place for Berks Salsa Fest. For the last 6 years Latin Flair Inc., in collaboration with other community agencies and schools, has worked closely with the local youth engaging them in creative activities that develop self-discipline, problem-solving and decision-making skills, while giving them a sense of achievement and personal worth. Latin Flair Inc., offers the same opportunities for adults and is the cultural mirror of the region it serves.
The RIZE Program, a non-profit youth media arts program, has promoted non-violence in its students for over 5 years by providing a creative outlet for them to actively participate in all aspects of film making. The RIZE Program uses educational seminars, visiting lecturers and internships to teach the youth not only the base of film-making but also teaches positive conflict resolution as an effective communication of emotions.
Latin Flair Inc., and The RIZE Program recognized that the arts have long played a vital role in the social, emotional, physical and mental development of all children and adults, and decided to collaborate their efforts for the benefit of their community and the individual person.
Our vision is to continue to provide these services, establish a scholarship fund for local senior high school students with an interest in pursuing a career in the arts, and to eliminate the social adversity by uniting our cultures as one through the art of DANCE.
